MotoGP™ San Marino GP Trophy

One of the very first works we did for the MotoGP™ world championship was the San Marino trophy.

Back in the day we were asked to design a trophy which could represent the history and the surroundings of the San Marino nearby.

The inspiration came from the 3 towers of the San Marino skyline, also present in its country flag. The idea was that once on the podium it would resemble that iconic picture.

Each tower was designed to look like a moto cylinder with all the flat flaps made in stainless steel. Three polycarbonate colored plates were added with the sponsor colors to distinguish between first, second and third place. Two ribbons with the San Marino state colors hang from the top of the trophy recalling the medieval background of the oldest republic in the world.
