FIM MotoGP™ "Champions Tower" Trophy

A carbon fiber base supports the "Tower of Champions" of silver plaques for each of the 70 winners of past seasons in the oldest World Championship in motorsports.

Each year the newly crowned MotoGP™ World Champion adds the current plaque bearing his name at the FIM MotoGP™ Awards Ceremony, and takes home a smaller replica of the Trophy.

The Trophy is designed to be an emblem of the MotoGP™ World Championship for years to come, and as such space has been dedicated for each future FIM MotoGP™ World Champion to leave their mark.

-

"The trophy project for the MotoGP™ World Championship is unique and was a challenge for me because of its symbolism. Not only did need to have a visual impact, but it also had to represent the values of the oldest motorcycle championship in the world.

Making this trophy, I was inspired by the Tower of Babel. The motorcycle World Championship is made up of riders from every continent and of different nationalities, brought together with a single objective: win and have their name written on the highest part of the trophy".

FIM MXGP World Championship Trophy

FIM MXGP World Championship Trophy

The MXGP trophy is made of two main materials: aluminum and carbon fiber. The base is formed by 6 piece of anodized aluminum in three different shades: red at the bottom, and black and gray in the middle alongside the MXGP logo. In the gray parts we can find some filigrees inspired by motocross such as the starting gates of the tracks, the teeth on the bikes sprokects, and more distinctive elements.

The top of the trophy is formed by 16 twisted carbon fiber blades shaped into a cup to resemble the championship logo. The 20 stainless steel plaques wrapping the trophy are engraved with all the world champions' names from 1957 until now in the main class.

The size and weight of the trophy represent the toughness of the competition, and its uneven sharp angles are meant to capture the skilled performance of the riders and the thrill and speed of the races.

MotoGP™ eSport Trophy

MotoGP™ eSport Trophy

Considering we had to do a tall and big trophy and at the same time maintain all the attention to a big MotoGP™ eSports logo, the idea was to create a pole to sustain it in a creative way.

Inspiration came from the polygon meshes that are used by 3D graphics developers to create virtual designs.

The base in black and red anodized aluminum sets a perfect gravity center in order to give stability to the whole complex, the mast made of a big square 1x1 carbon fiber pattern gives the trophy a big personality at the same time offers light weight and strength to sustain the logo.

The logo itself is made of nickel plated resin. Also the MotoGP™ and eSports textes are nickel photo etched to obtain the maximum quality reflection. All carbono material are matt coated in order to create contrast with the logo.

FIM SUPERBIKE World Championship

FIM SUPERBIKE World Championship

For this project we had absolutely freedom for creating World SUPERBIKE trophy so we went to several races before getting to work to get to know the mood and the particularities of the championship in order to get inspired.

SUPERBIKE Championship is a motorsport road racing series for modified production motorcycle that awards both riders and manufacturers. This duplicity is also found in the way the races are held during the weekend, a total of three races: two long ones and one sprint race. A true competitive enviroment with both factories and familiar teams define this category.

The trophy wants to recreate this duplicity using the logo chevron shape and transformed into a 3D volume. Devided in two sides, left part is for the riders, right side for the manufacturers, in its interior there is an engraved "wall of fame" with all their winning names and brands since the beginning of the championship back in 1988. Protecting these aluminum structures from all sides there are four carbon fiber fairings transforming this esculptural trophy in something very new but yet ment to last in time.

The idea was to create a chevron shape trophy, not as big as his top category one but with the same faceted surfaces. A full matt black symmetrical trophy with a color core dividing it, painted with the same color of the category logo, green for SSP.

Despite the mono color tone, all these plain surfaces give the trophy strength and personality with all the shades and shadows formed.

MotoGP™ San Marino GP Trophy

MotoGP™ San Marino GP Trophy

One of our very first works we did for the MotoGP™ world championship was the San Marino trophy. Back in that days we were asked to design a trophy which could represent the history and the enviroment of the San Marino nearby.

The inspiration came from the 3 towers of the San Marino skyline, also present in its country flag. The idea was that once on the podium it would resemble that iconic picture.

Each tower was designed to look like a moto cylinder with all the flat flaps made in stainless steel. Three polycarbonate coloured plates were added with the sponsor colours and also distinguishing between first, second and third place.

Two ribbons with the San Marino state colours hang from the top of the trophy recalling the medieval background of the oldest republica in the world.

MotoGP™ MOVISTAR GP Trophy

MotoGP™ MOVISTAR GP Trophy

The MOVISTAR MotoGP™ "the wall" trophy is one of our most iconic trophies we've done trough these years. Not only for its concept but the way it was created.

In this case MOVISTAR wanted us to collaborate together with Jorge Lorenzo, MOVISTAR YAMAHA RACING rider, in order to design what a rider would appreciate most on receiving as a trophy.

We sat down together with Jorge and sketched some ideas of what a Motorland Aragón trophy should look like. After some drawings we arrived to the conclusion that representing the famous wall on turn 13 would be the most iconic trophy possible.

For doing that an scale copy of the wall was sculpted down from a chalk piece and then duplicated in resin castings elaborately painted one by one. The "M" logo of MOVISTAR's shows cuting through on the top right of it. A concrete pedestal with a fine layer of carbon fiber are the base for this little piece of Aragón memorabilia.

MotoGP™ GENERALI GP Trophy

MotoGP™ GENERALI GP Trophy

GENERALI as one of the oldest insurance companies of all over the world came up with the idea of enhance their most purpose value: “enable people to shape a safer future by caring for their lives and dreams”.

All these together with the historical background of the company and the will to impact on MotoGP™ audience brought us to use their logo as the main emblem for the trophy.

St Mark's winged lion logo, symbol of the company since 1848, defines its Venetian/italian identity as well as the saint's evangelical representation. Under the lion paw we read St. Mark's Gospel "Pax Tibi Marce Evangelista Meus"

The execution of the trophy was very difficult as we created a 31 stainless steel pieces welded puzzle to get the body of the lion. All together with a its base, everything mirror polished and some carbon fiber plates define this iconic trophy given to the winners of the closing race of the MotoGP™ season in Valencia.

BARCOLANA GENERALI Trophy

BARCOLANA GENERALI Trophy

The Barcolana is a historic international sailing regatta taking place every year in the Gulf of Trieste on the second Sunday of October. The Barcolana is one of the most crowded regattas in the world, which draw in record number of participants - 2689 - in 2018. Thanks to its particular formula, the Barcolana is a unique event on the international sailing stage: on the same starting line expert sailors and sailing lovers race side by side on boats of different sizes divided into several divisions according to their overall length. (Wikipedia)

The "GENERALI Trophy" is given to the winner in the "Crociera" class. For that reason we proposed the client to maintain the same iconic design as we did for the MotoGP races but with a different style. In this case we wanted to use teak to resemble the wood decks of this "cruisers" category boats.

Clúster de l'Automoció. CIAC Trophy

Sometimes when you create a new concept you get inspired by the clients logo. In this case we got inspired by de initial C of CIAC (The Automotive Industry Cluster of Catalonia) transforming it to an extruded aluminum C. By that we wanted to emphasize the main aim of the association, which is to boost the competitiveness of the automotive industry as the driving force behind the Catalan economy.

As they were awarding several categories we proposed to use the same body color for each trophy only changing the superior part. As the prizes were given to some Top companies of the automotive industry we wanted to give the trophy this high tech look, so it was decided to use PVD coating for the different finishes.

The PVD technique is very difficult to nail as you can't control how it would perform at the end of it. Having a very well done milled piece helps a lot in order to achieve the best results.

A very special trophy from Team Penske to honour their "Captain" for the amazing 500th team victories landmark achieved during 2019 with Keselowski's win at Las Vegas.

The trophy symbolizes a big 500 sustained by Penske's logo over a pedestal with all nine former Team Penske logos engraved since its foundation back in 1958. This central piece is in the middle of a carbon fiber structure that resembles an oval with its banking garnished with a silver checkered flag. Wrapping this hexadecagon structure ther are 16 plaques, each of them simbolises a championship when victories have been achieved and a text remembers when and how many.

As a base of all this ensemble we created a mirror polished aluminum piece with lathed Penske stripes enameled with Penske Colours: white and fluor red.

WSBK Teams and Manufacturers Plaques

WSBK Teams and Manufacturers Plaques

Plaques are given as a trophy, most of the times for repetitive awards where you prize different categories or classes from the same championship.

Plaques are normally flat made of fine materials and packaged with a nice box. In this case, WSBK needed a modern plaque, just as similar as their other trophies, rounding up a great family of awards.

The plaque we made for rewarding the best Teams and Manufacturers from the different categories of the WSBK championship was a curve anodized sheet of aluminum resembling the chevron shape. It is blended twice in different angles to give a 3D touch. An overlapped piece of curved aluminum, this time painted with the color of the class category distinguishes from all the other prizes. Each plaque has its own plate made in stainless steel and acid engraved for a beautiful finish.

Proposal Formula1 Medals

Proposal Formula1 Medals

This medal was never proposed to F1 but as we created this concept and we did such a great prototype we wanted to share it.

During 2008 Formula 1 season Bernie Ecclestone, F1 boss then, emerged a new topic about the championship scoring system and the possibility of turning points into medals to rank the firsts positions. In that way pilots should risk more in order to win as the pilot with more gold medals would take the championship.

Our idea was a complex medal with a hidden clipping system inside, allowing to snap it to the racing suit once on the podium.

The medal itself was a very simple design, rounded shaped and highly recognizable, thought to be collected and displayed together.

Made of aluminum and stainless steel and 2 carbon fiber rings with tinted resin, the front face should mirror the holder with its polished surface and the race position engraved. The back face would be engraved with the circuit info and a two tone photo.

Medals were never proposed, if one day they change their minds we'll be there!

60th Anniversary Yamaha Medals

60th Anniversary Yamaha Medals

Celebrating 60 years of racing deserves a major party and Yamaha Racing held it during the last MotoGP™ race of the year in November 2015.

The team decided to honour all their factory riders with a commemorative medal made of anodized aluminum milled from one piece with the three diapason logo in the front.

The rear plaque was engraved with the riders names and the two special logos made for the occasion. To match the official team's look we used a plain blue satin ribbon.

MotoGP™ "LEGENDS" Medals

Since 2000 MotoGP™ riders who had excel in the sport or have had an iconic approach both to the fans or the MotoGP™ family had been inducted in the wall of fame as a MotoGP™ LEGENDS.

The medal given by Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna CEO) himself put the laureate in a superior category of rider, going beyond the merely athlete to a referent between their colleagues.

The medal represents the LEGENDS' logo, made of aluminum with screen printings in both sides, one with the name and number of the rewarded, the other one with a moto riding action mono-color photo.

MotoGP™ eSport Medals

MotoGP™ eSport Medals

Headquarters Building Trophy

Headquarters Building Trophy

The briefing was clear: to design a gift for the employees celebrating 25 years in the company.

The idea behind the trophy was representing the factory building itself. For bringing this concept to live we created a realistic 3D model and turned it out to an ABS master. After making some resin copies from a silicon mould we silvercoated them with a brushed look. All mounted on a black granite base.

We particularly enjoy these kind of projects where the object embodies the client’s soul.
